A Rotorua man who has previously pleaded guilty to the murder of Polish man Roman Skorek has been remanded in custody until next month for a date to be set for him to be sentenced.
Rawiri James Samuel, 21, appeared in the High Court at Rotorua this morning after pleading guilty to a charge of murder in March. Mr Skorek was found dead in Rotorua's Kuirau Park on January 23.
Justice Paul Heath remanded Samuel in custody until August 16 when a date will be set for his sentencing.
A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, who have been granted interim name suppression, and Simon Meka Herewini, 20, unemployed, have pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and a trial date has been set for February 11.
