The new national advertisement for a popular weight loss company will feature a familiar face in the coming months.

Jenny Craig Rotorua member Natasha Priestley will appear on the weight loss company's national advertisements as part of their new campaign, My Moment.

"I was really excited when they asked me to be on the new ad. I was asked to do one of their previous advertisements and I thought that would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, but then they asked me to do it again and I jumped at the chance."

The My Moment campaign focuses on the turning point when a person decides they need to lose weight.

Mrs Priestley said it took some time before she realised she wanted to get back to her post-baby body.

"I put my weight gain down to being a mum and tried to accept that was what my body would look like. It wasn't until I saw the family photos we had taken and was absolutely disgusted with the way I looked.

"I was blaming the photographer saying she captured me at the wrong angles and wasn't a good photographer but when I saw Jenny Craig on GrabOne, I admitted to myself that I wasn't happy with my body and decided I'd give it a go."

Mrs Priestley said doing Jenny Craig was the best thing that had ever happened to her.

"It has been an amazing experience and the results have made such a big difference to my appearance.

"Jenny Craig re-educates you about food and what your body needs to sustain itself.

"Before starting the programme, I was eating the same amount as my husband for dinner but I would justify it because I hadn't eaten a lot during the day. Now I eat more during the day but it's smaller portion sizes."

Mrs Priestley said a lot of people were shy about joining a weight loss programme, but they didn't need to be.

"A lot of people hear it's really expensive but I tallied up what I was spending on McDonald's and other takeaways and that was more expensive than what I spend on Jenny Craig meals.

"It's not about foregoing the food you love, one of my favourite meals is the chocolate mousse and the meat pie, it's about creating a new body and a new you."
