The WaiCoa Bay Stallions have suffered a big defeat at the hands of competition leaders Counties Manukau.
Counties defeated the Stallions 68-0 at Tauranga Domain at the weekend to continue their dominance in the Pirtek NZRL National Premiership this season.
Counties were unbeaten through the regular season last year but
were knocked over in the final by Akarana. The Stingrays seem to be on a mission to erase that memory, accounting for their opponents by an average of 55 points this year.
WaiCoa Bay came into the contest off the back of a comeback victory over Wellington last week, but were never in contention, trailing 32-0 at halftime. Eko Malu scored three tries and leads the way in the competition, with seven for the season.
The Stallions will play the Northern Swords this Sunday in Whangarei while Counties face Akarana Falcons.
