There is still time to submit your best lake photo in the Rotorua Te Arawa Lakes Programme "Our Lakes" Photo Competition.

The Rotorua Te Arawa Lakes Programme is a partnership between Te Arawa Lakes Trust, Rotorua District Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council to protect and restore 12 Rotorua lakes. The photo competition is being used to develop a library of images to showcase how the Rotorua lakes are enjoyed by the community.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council general manager natural resource operations Warwick Murray said a lot of entries had come in and it was hoped there would be a lot more before the competition closed at the end of March.

"We are really pleased with the number and diversity of entries. We have received great photos of children playing by the lakes, people skiing, fishing or just sitting enjoying the wonderful views the lakes provide.

"It is great to see the many ways the region's lakes are enjoyed.

"There is still plenty of time for people to enter and we look forward to receiving more entries," Mr Murray said.

To enter, complete the online form and submit your high resolution photo on www.rotorualakes.co.nz by Monday March 31.
