Rotorua's Kolohe Kai and Rebel Souljahz concert is selling faster than others around New Zealand - but most of those buying tickets are from outside the city.
The Hawaiian reggae bands will perform in Rotorua as part of a four-concert New Zealand tour next month.
Between August 4 and 7 they will
be in Christchurch, Porirua, Rotorua and Auckland.
The Rotorua concert will be at the Energy Events Centre on August 6, and will feature the two groups plus Kiwi reggae bands Sons of Zion and NRG Rising.
Other centres will have different support acts.
Kolohe Kai, which features Roman De Peralta (lead vocalist, acoustic guitar), Noah (ukulele), Ryan (sax, backing vocals), Jordan (electric guitar, backing vocals), Warren (bass), Luke (drums) and Ko (keyboards), has dominated radio airwaves with songs such as Cool Down, Ehu Girl, Lover Girl and other tracks inspired by the sun, surf and lifestyle in Hawaii.
Concert promoter Ara Adams-Tamatea said tickets for the Rotorua gig were selling the fastest of all the tour shows and he thought that could be because the Rotorua concert was the only Saturday gig on the tour and was an R18 event.
Mr Adams-Tamatea couldn't say how many tickets had been sold but said sales had were "in the four digits".
"It's going to be an awesome show," he said.
"Often locals are missing out ... the tickets are there for anyone and they're going [fast]."
This tour would be the last in New Zealand for Kolohe Kai for some time.
It would be the second time Kolohe Kai had performed in the Bay of Plenty.
The reggae band performed at Tauranga's Mount Action Centre in March in front of a sold-out crowd of 3000.
