Events & Venues Rotorua is rolling out a new look during the coming months.
Sales and marketing manager Brett Jeffery describes the new promotional material as "fresh, evocative and reflecting the destination's renewed energy, optimism and confidence in its ability to host major upscale conferences and conventions".
Jeffery said the new look
for material promoting the Energy Events Centre and the Rotorua Convention Centre to the conferences market was launched at the Meetings 2010 convention and incentive tradeshow in June under the tagline "two convention centres, one iconic destination".
Work continues to roll the look out across letterheads, business cards and other material in the coming months.
Jeffery said the time was right for a fresh look as Rotorua targeted Australian conference and incentives business, with flights between Rotorua and Sydney making Rotorua's venues accessible.
"We've been promising the Australian market a direct link for a number of years. With Air New Zealand services in place since December, we finally have the long-awaited international connection we so badly needed."
He said the ability to link organisations to New Zealand's largest convention centre - the 8255sq m Energy Events Centre - would help reap the huge benefits direct flights would bring the city.
The new style is drawn from two design elements from the Energy Events Centre - the illuminated fibreglass Maori pou, in the Wai Ora Spa Grand Hall and a red, abstract wall design representing the region's 16 lakes in the BayTrust Forum. "These elements are complemented by modern, funky fonts, red and black colours, depicting the destination's strong ties with Maori culture, and angled imagery - a mix of stunning destinational and inspirational
venue shots - symbolising the cutting edge approach available to clients," Jeffery said.
