A firearms sighting reported to police in Rotorua today turned out to be a false alarm.
A police spokeswoman said staff received a report of a firearm inside a vehicle travelling on State Highway 30 near Rotorua about 1.20pm.
The vehicle was located about 30 minutes later and pulled over
