Car rolls near Hells Gate

Update:
Occupants of a car that rolled in a crash near Hells Gate have escaped injury.

The car rolled when it collided with another car, on State Highway 30, around 2.40pm.

Ambulance and fire crews attended but a police media spokeswoman said it was understood there were no injuries.

A Rotorua Daily Post photographer at the scene said police were controlling traffic at the scene.

He said one car was on its side and was "pretty smashed up".

He said from what he could see, all occupants were out of the car.

A St John Ambulance media spokeswoman said they had no information on the crash.

A police media spokeswoman said the crash happened around 2.40pm and police were on their way to the scene.

She said two cars were involved and one had rolled.
