Rotorua police are hoping motorists may have spotted would-be thieves who targetted a Rotorua hotel yesterday.
The pair threatened a female staff member and demanded cash at the Silver Oaks Hotel - Geyserland on Fenton St around 4.30pm.
They left empty-handed but not before damaging the reception area.
The two
male offenders are described as Maori or Pacific Island and had a black vehicle that was dusty. One offender was wearing a black top, with camouflage or hunting pants and wore a cap. The other had a red top.
A Rotorua police spokesperson said that as lots of people were out and about enjoying the weather yesterday and the hotel is on a busy road opposite the golf course, it's likely that there are people who will have witness information that would be useful.
