Upper Atiamuri School is one of 11 schools in the running for $10,000 to transform an unused area into an outdoor classroom space.
The school is a finalist in the TREEmendous challenge.
The challenge asked students around the country to design new outdoor learning spaces to go in the draw to win a $10,000 TREEmendous outdoor classroom.
TREEmendous is an initiative which challenges schools to consider how they can transform unused areas by planting native trees and encouraging students to explore, learn in and reconnect with nature.
Upper Atiamuri School's first submission was straightforward and based around a gully in the school but they now have to get more creative and put in more detail.
