Horizon Energy has advised customers that it experienced various outages around the region yesterday due to severe weather.

Horizon Energy said in a statement that a total of 747 customers were affected by outages and on average it took 2 hours to restore power to customers, with the longest outage taking 5 hours to restore.

Horizon Energy expect the severe weather to continue until late evening and appreciate their customer's patience while it works to restore supply to customer's affected by weather.

This weather event sends a timely reminder to customers to ensure trees do not encroach near power lines and to be prepared for emergencies, the statement said.

Horizon Energy thanked customers for their patience and have issued an apology for any inconvenience caused and advises all customers to contact their retailers in the first instance and to treat all lines as live at all times.
