The words thank you hardly make a dent in the sentiment but to everyone who has given to the Northern Advocate's annual Christmas toy appeal, thank you for the gifts that keep on giving.
This year, all the donated toys, food and games have been given to Barnardos, an organisation
that helps struggling families.
On Christmas eve, Barnardos staff and helpers collected the latest mountain of toys, left under the Advocate Christmas tree in the reception area over the 24 hours beforehand.
It was the fifth time the organisation had called in over a number of days and taken away hundreds of gifts left by kind people for Northland children who might otherwise not have had such a merry Christmas.
