PETANQUE: Bay reps in the medals

All three Hawke's Bay representatives collected medals as New Zealand won the Oceania petanque tournament for the first time at the weekend.
Sharron Cannon won one of New Zealand's five gold medals in the shooting section of the five-day Rotorua-hosted event. Her Hawke's Bay Lawn clubmate Beth Rouse collected a bronze medal in the same section.
The other Hawke's Bay Lawn player, Fiona Browne, won a silver medal in the women's triples playing with two Wellingtonians.
New Zealand won the overall title with their five golds, Tahiti were second with three golds and New Caledonia third with two.
Before competing in the Oceania event the three Hawke's Bay representatives tackled the New Zealand Open in Auckland where they were unplaced.
