Pro Class winner takes his turn at Otane. Pro Class winner Ben Earnshaw takes a corner during the first round of the Hawke's Bay Motocross championships at Otane on Sunday. Hawke's Bay's Earnshaw displayed the benefits of the experienced gained on the national circuit as he collected a win and two secondplacings in his three races. In his wake his Central Hawke's Bay's Gareth Bloomfield who experienced contrasting success. Bloomfield finished seventh in the class after collecting fourth placings in his first two races and missing the third with a broken radiator. In addition to riders competing for class titles over the three rounds, senior and junior teams trophies are up for grabs and will be awarded to the club with the highest aggregate points at the end of the three rounds. Central Hawke's Bay riders Regan Gore, Keiran Murphy, John McKee and Adam Lawrence were the respective winners of the expert, intermediate, veteran and junior 125cc classes. Other Hawke's Bay class winners were Cameron Knight, John Lindstrom, Daniel O'Callaghan, Kayne Lamont and Hayden Koolen in the clubman, senior open, ATV, junior 8-12 years 85cc and junior 13-16 years 85cc classes respectively. In Sunday's senior teams competition Hawke's Bay recorded 266 points and Central Hawke's Bay 255. In the junior section, Hawke's Bay recorded 168 and Central Hawke's Bay 147. The second round will be staged on Sunday at Te Hauke and the final round on December 12 at Otane.
