Waimarama Special: Digger driver inspires student

I want to be a digger driver when I grow up. There have been lots of diggers in Waimarama since the flood happened. There have been dump trucks, bulldozers, graders, tractors and diggers everywhere. They have been working in Waimarama Rd, Gillies Crescent, Waitangi Rd and Te Apiti Rd.
Bruce Lissette had a front-end loader filled with carpets, Tui boxes, furniture and other rubbish. I asked him who told him where to work in Waimarama.
He said: "The Hastings District Council."
I asked him if he liked his job and he said, "I guess I do. I've been doing it for 35 years and I'm still doing it."
People have to have a car licence and then they have to have a heavy vehicle licence to drive diggers. When I am 20 I am going to be a digger driver.
