Westshore's Nikki Cox had a hectic day at Sunday's surf lifesaving carnival at Waipatiki Beach.
Cox won the open women's board, ski, ironwoman and beach sprint events and was third in the run swim run. She competed in all open events, including the beach relay. Amy Vaughan of Westshore also had a consistent day in the open events, placing second in the ironwoman, run swim run, board, 50m & 90m beach sprints, third in the ski race and was part of the open women's beach relay team. She also competed in all events.
The Swain brothers featured for Westshore. Chris won the open men's run swim run while Nick won the open board race. Ambrose OHalloran of Waimarama showed his sprint form as an U19 competitor, winning the open men's beach sprint 50m and 90m races.
Stephanie Wright of Waimarama, an U19 competitor, won the open women's run swim run, was second in the U19 board and ironwoman and third in the open women's 90m beach sprint.
Jamie Nilsson from Waimarama won the U19 ironwoman and board events and was second in the U19 run swim run. Ryan Welch won the U19 ironman and board race.
Adam Moffitt performed well for Ocean Beach Kiwi in the open men's events.
He won the ski, was second in the ironman and third in the board and swim events.
Ocean Beach Kiwi's Chantelle Cowlrick won the U19 women's run swim run while sister Larissa took the U16 women's board and ski races and was second in the run swim run. Pacific's Monique Baarspul won the U16 women's beach sprints and sister Renee both U19 beach sprints.
Daniel Moodie took the U19 run swim run and ski, was second in the U19 men's beach sprint 90m, first in the open men's ironman and finished second in the open men's board event.
Charlotte Matthews of Pacific, an U16 competitor, won the U19 women's ski race.
Westshore scored 163 points in the carnival, Waimarama 107, Ocean Beach Kiwi 41 and Pacific 18. Races were run as individual events and if a club entered four members to make up a team their combined individual placings in an event decided team placings.
