Seven internationally recognised scooter riders from Australia made their way to Hastings as part of a Madd Gear Pro New Zealand tour on Sunday.
The tour also covered Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton.
"It was really great, these riders are really good, they also do tours in the United States and all
over," Madd Gear Pro New Zealand sales and product manager Glen Gordon said. "One of them was on Nitro Circus."
Despite the cold, people came out in their hordes to show support for the riders in Hawke's Bay.
"We wanted to have the event outside at the skate park in Napier, but that didn't work out because of the weather, so we hope to come back for a summer tour."
Mr Gordon said scooters were becoming more and more popular with young people . "It gets the kids outside and keeps them off the streets. It is a great alternative to computer games."
