RNZAF navigators head off into Bay's wide blue yonder

They are part of Wiseowl 84, the pilot navigation exercise being staged from a base camp which has sprung up at the Watchman Road airfield area.
About 70 RNZAF personnel have been taken out of their "comfort zone" to experience a field deployment, and for the six student pilots that means unfamiliar terrain. The exercise runs until February 3, with the training squadron then putting on a seafront flyover in their CT-4E Airtrainers.
