Large grass fire at Haumoana

DAMPENING DOWN: Crews put out a scrub fire at Haumoana.

Firefighters are battling a large grass fire in Haumoana.

Fire crews were called to Tennant Rd to a 100 metre by 50m blaze about 3pm today.

A fire spokesman said four trucks and two tankers were at the scene.

"It is a standard old grass fire and there is no threat to any properties," he said.

Crews are working to dampen down the fire.
