Hastings couple Kay and Bruce Highwood are fearing the worst for their dog, who went missing on Monday afternoon. Poodle-shihtzu cross Sasha was a companion for Mr Highwood, who has a condition which forces his eyes shut, leaving him mostly blind.
"That little dog was keeping us going," Mrs Highwood said. "It'sjust ghastly, I keep thinking she's back when I hear someone coming up the drive." Mrs Highwood was suffering from a brain tumour, which has returned after surgery to remove it.
The couple had contacted the Hastings pound, which was on the lookout for the dog. Sasha was not wearing a collar, but was microchipped.
