April Davies is happy to continue with the flu jab.

April Davies is happy to continue with the flu jab.

April Davies has been hit hard with the flu before and said that anyone who has been struck down with it "would be happy to have the jab".

"I have had the flu jab for about 5 years running now and I've had no flu.

"You can still get unwell with a bacterial cold and that's where your Buccaline comes in. I have had both and I feel very healthy. I also work in pharmacy so my immune system is pretty strong despite a lot of ill people walking in."

Along with getting the flu vaccine annually, Davies said she followed a number of other precautions to stay well throughout the winter months.

"I take Buccaline [anti-bacterial tablets which deal with coughs and colds] which is a three day course that lasts three months against bacterial infections such as common head cold.

"I take a bit of natural health like Vitamin C and VIR Defence which is a natural immune booster that has ingredients like olive leaf and echinacea."

Davies said that probiotics was also a must during the colder months as they put all the good bacteria back in the intestines.

"That's where 70 per cent of our immunity starts and the good bacteria can be killed off by things like antibiotics.

"We also have an amazing product called Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C which I have taken in the past if I feel like I'm coming down with something and it kicks it out straight away."

Davies said she originally got the flu vaccine as she had experienced respiratory problems in the past and it was recommended by her doctor.

She said she hadn't had the flu since she started the vaccine and would highly recommend it to other people.

"I would especially recommend the vaccine to the elderly who are very vulnerable."
