A Havelock North home has been announced as this year's finest Manawatu, Wanganui & East Coast home, winning supreme awards in the Manawatu, Wanganui & East Coast Registered Master Builders 2016 House of the Year competition.

Redmond Builders and Construction Limited won eight regional awards with the Havelock North home, including the Manawatu, Wanganui & East Coast Registered Master Builders 2016 Supreme House of the Year, a gold award and category win for the New Home over $2 million award. Judges called the Havelock North new build an "elegantly designed" family home located on a private site overlooking the Tukituki River.

"This home is an outstanding example of a great team working together to create a beautiful home. It displays supreme workmanship with a combination of materials including cedar weather boards, cedar shingle roofing and double-hung timber windows. The in-situ exposed concrete fireplaces strengthen the interior and the timber flooring adds warmth.

"Bespoke internal panelling line the walls and detailed ceilings are featured in every room. Black steel internal glazed doors divide the spaces when required while remaining a piece of art.
