There'll be some extra star power on the door at the Hot Pink Charity Cocktail Party tonight.
Sia Trokenheim, best known for her role as Jane Perry on Shortland Street, will be greeting guests at the door alongside Hawke's Bay's favourite top model Ruby Higgins.
Sia will be wearing a one-off MichaelPattison dress, based on his hot new youth label Trix & Dandy (see 48 Hours tomorrow for more). The 1950s style dress, pink with a halter neck, will be auctioned later in the evening.
Ruby will be showcasing the specially-made handcrafted necklace that has been up for auction on Trade Me for the past two weeks.
Council election candidates also supported Hot Pink's fundraising campaign for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. Thirteen took to the streets with collection buckets this week and raised $1132 in just 90 minutes.
Organiser Joanna Smith said the fundraising effort so far was "absolutely fantastic" and ticket sales for the event had already surpassed last year's total.
Hastings and Havelock North businesses were also getting in the pink of things by decorating shop windows to the theme. The winning display was judged by MORE FM radio hosts Gareth and Waggs and scheduled for announcement this morning.
Ms Smith said the night was about showcasing the region's rose wines, while raising money and having a good time.
Pianist Paul Carnegie-Jones and singer Stephanie Bishop would headline the night, but Ms Smith promised a few other surprises were in store.
