A vehicle has rolled on St Aubyn St East, after colliding with an oncoming car.
Emergency services were called to the scene by Warren St, Hastings at 9.56am this morning.
A Police spokesperson said the east-bound lane was blocked.
O'Briens Plumbing and Bathroomware Hawke's Bay co-owner, Mark Liley was heading towards Havelock North when a Nissan Pulsar pulled out and hit him.
"It just started flipping and eventually landed on the roof."
He managed to climb out the side of the car and cut his hand in the process.
The woman who was driving the Nissan Pulsar did not wish to be named but said all she was thinking about was if the other driver was ok.
"I was so worried but when he got out of the truck and I saw that he was ok, I breathed a sigh of relief."
She hit one of the road signs and crushed the front of her car.
The 70-year-old was "a bit out of breath" but did not have any injuries.
Emergency services responded at 4.05am on Racecourse Rd.
