The cool blustery wind, grey sky and risk of hail has passed.
Spring-like conditions are set to grace Hawke's Bay for the rest of the week.
MetService Meteorologist, Lisa Murray said today would see "totally different weather."
"Temperature-wise, it will be in the 20s all week, except on Thursday, when it is forecast to reach a smouldering 30C."
"Napier is expected to reach 21C today, Wednesday 26C and down to 25C on Friday. Hastings will have pretty close temperatures," Ms Murray said.
It is expected to be fine, apart from some evening cloud and a southwest wind dying out.
Tomorrow, it will be mostly fine, with a few evening showers and a northwesterly picking up.
Further along, high cloud, brief rain and breezy westerlies are on the horizon for Thursday, while Friday is looking to be the pick of the week with mainly fine conditions and westerlies easing.
Ms Murray said it was not unusual to have these conditions in summer.
The dramatic change in weather that swept through the country yesterday saw a moderate thunderstorm risk placed on the region.
These thunderstorms were expected to have localised heavy rain with intensities of 10mm to 25mm per hour and hail of 5mm to 20mm in diameter in the evening.
Emergency services responded at 4.05am on Racecourse Rd.
