If the joy of a fair isn't enough to put a spring in your step, organisers have sweetened the deal with a 12 at 12 auction, featuring some intriguing listings.

From 12pm on Sunday August 13, a total of 12 auction lots will go under the hammer at Havelock North's Spring Fair.

Packages such as a getaway to Shepherds Retreat Bach in Taupo, accommodation and cooked breakfast at Napier's County Hotel or coaching session with legendary cricketer Mark Greatbatch, are all up for grabs.

One of the most sought after prizes is a three-course lunch for two at The Farm, Cape Kidnappers, where the lucky winners will be chauffeur driven to and from the venue in a Maserati Quattroporte, owned by Havelock North High School parent Lindsay Knowles.

"We're overwhelmed by the fantastic support of the local community in donating many of these auction items," organiser, Fiona Knobloch said.

"There's something for everyone no matter what your budget or tastes, including the opportunity to have lunch with Mayor Yule or a prostate exam with Dr Peter Culham ..."

Auctioneer Todd Foster of Maidens and Foster, donated his time, along with more than 100 volunteers to make the Spring Fair a success.

"We have ex-Havelock North High School head boy Harry Summerfield as MC, we could not have done this without all the people who have come forward to help out," convener Chris Sanders said.

The auction will take place on a stage behind Havelock North High School - with raffles, spot prizes and silent auctions drawn at the same time. Items must be paid for on the day using cash or Eftpos, available on site. "Havelock North High School and Havelock Intermediate form the backbone of our community and we really hope people come along and support the fair and dig deep for the auction," Mrs Knobloch added. While 100 per cent of proceeds from the fair and auction would be split between the schools, the day was open to everyone, with a parade and bike rally aimed at drawing people from the wider community. There will also be entertainment from local soloists, jazz bands and choirs.

A full auction catalogue will available on the school website: hnhs.school.nz
