A Central Hawke's Bay woman is in a critical condition with serious injuries, after falling from her horse at the weekend.
Just hours after returning to Hastings from one job, the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was back in the air at 4pm, as it responded to Takapau, for a 58 year old female, who fell from a horse and sustained a pelvis and chest injuries.
Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter Trust general manager Ian Wilmot said she was transported to Hawke's Bay Hospital for further treatment.
Yesterday the woman was still in "critical" condition in Hawke's Bay Hospital's ICU department.
In a busy day for the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter, there were two call-outs made just three hours apart on Saturday.
Wilmot said the first job happened at about 1pm on Saturday.
"The rescue helicopter was responded to Mahia, for a male in his 60's, who fell from the top of a shipping container and sustained a fractured wrist and neck injuries.
"He was transported to Hawke's Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
A hospital spokeswoman confirmed a man in his 50s was treated for trauma injuries, and was yesterday in stable condition.
Despite inclement weather arriving late Saturday, there had been no weather issues to hamper either job on Saturday.
"Both were straight forward jobs. It was a good day with just very high cloud, so there was nothing to impeded flying."
