After a windy and wet end to last week and gales over the weekend, Hawke's Bay looks set for a well-earned spell of sunshine.
Although no damage was reported following storms on Thursday and Friday, the MetService recorded maximum wind gusts of 74km/h on Friday and maximum gusts of 50km on Saturday.
However, the Met Service's 10-day forecast indicates that most of Hawke's Bay will see sunshine and high temperatures for most of the week, ahead of an easterly change around Thursday, bringing rain and cooler temperatures.
After receiving between 13.9mm and 14.8mm, and a high last week of 25 degrees on Wednesday, Napier and Hastings will start the week off with a fine day to start the working week, with Northwest winds changing southwest morning, then dying out to allow temperatures to climb to 25-26 degrees.
Things get slightly hotter on Tuesday, which will remain mainly fine, with high cloud and fresh northwesterlies developing. Temperatures of 26-27 degrees are expected with an overnight low of 18 degrees.
