Even charity cake decorating competitions have been unable to escape a dousing of rugby fever with an All Black jersey winning the third annual Silky Oak Cake Couture charity competition that raised funds for the Brain Injury Trust.
The director of Taradale's chocolate village, Jeanette Darwen, said the cake decorating competition attracted more entrants this year, with over 30 cakes submitted.
"We are really pleased with the quality of the cakes, and found it difficult to judge," she said.
"Without these people all willing to give of their time, we would not be able to run events like this, for such a worthwhile cause."
This year, the themed category was "Kiwiana" and over the weekend the cakes were viewed by the public and auctioned.
