I would like to offer my warm thanks to all the big-hearted volunteers in Gisborne who gave their time to volunteer for the Heart Foundation during our Big Heart Appeal street collection.
This year saw the biggest collection in our organisation’s 50-year history, with nationwide collector numbers up by 25
percent on last year.
As a charity, the Heart Foundation relies on the generosity of our volunteers and donors throughout New Zealand to fund life-saving heart research and specialist training for New Zealand cardiologists.
To all those who came out and collected donations in the street, and to everyone who raised funds in their workplaces, schools and early learning services, thank you.
A huge thanks also to everyone who dug deep and made a donation during the Big Heart Appeal. Your contribution means we continue fighting heart disease — New Zealand’s single biggest killer responsible for the deaths of 6000 of our loved ones every year.
