Re: ‘Handed to her', June 11 story.
I am very disappointed to read Cr Akuhata-Brown's comments in Saturday's paper. Quite uncalled for and helping no one's situation at all, including her own.
I for one do not agree with everything the Honourable Mayor does but give her full marks for
dedication and effort. I am impressed with her ability to handle another language, and attend wherever she can — making a real and impressive effort to be in the community. I often see her, in her time, way out in the district when she could be at home with family.
Cr Akuhata-Brown is out of line and only trying to fuel or start a fire. Not good from a councillor.
