There was no consultation, people were just told it was closing. If they had consulted properly then there may have been time to put other options in place to retain some sort of service in Kaiti for the approx. 1400 elderly
it affects and around 100 per week who utilised the services it provided. This was manipulated by Work and Income to reduce numbers using the office to justify closing it. They also made some security officers jobless by doing this.
