AN agricultural workshop inspired by the life and legacy of Wairoa son and Lincoln University alumnus Sir Turi Carroll will be held in Wairoa on Friday.
The two-day workshop has been organised by Lincoln University and is open to whanau, hapu and iwi, Maori land trusts, farming, industry, business leaders,
Lincoln alumni and the community.
“All are invited to the event, which will focus on research and best practice in agriculture,” a workshop spokesman said.
“It will feature talks and seminars based on the future of Maori land development, farming and agribusiness through a restatement of Ta Turi’s vision.”
Sir Turi Carroll graduated with a diploma in agriculture from the Canterbury Agricultural College in 1912 and in 1940 was awarded Lincoln University’s prestigious Bledisloe Medal.
