Re: Why is it taking so long? December 6 letter.
I have a friendly informant within Gisborne District Council who tells me a presentation on the Endeavour models will be made at a full council meeting on December 19 from 9am. This could be an opportunity for all those who
are concerned about the models to have their democratic say.
My informant also says the GDC will say the poles that held the Endeavour models are rotten, so they won't be going up where they were.
Of course, I may be old and a bit gaga, but when you build beautiful brand new models of the Endeavour, surely they deserve new poles or towers to put them up on? Maybe Trust Tairawhiti could pay for this extra work.
So Barb Woods, thanks for your letter in Friday's Gisborne Herald. Let's stand strong and tell the councillors what they need to do for us, their employers, and the many tourists who are coming soon.
