Papamoa woman Mary Loader, who was badly injured after being struck in the face with a bottle of beer, says she does not remember anything about the incident.
The 65-year-old grandmother was struck in the face when the half-full bottle was hurled from a moving car on Domain Rd, Papamoa, about
8.20am on April 11.
Ms Loader suffered horrific injuries which required five titanium plates being inserted in her face in Tauranga Hospital.
Tauranga detectives are still hunting for the four occupants of the car from which the bottle was thrown.
Speaking from her hospital bed last night, Ms Loader said she did not remember anything about the incident. When asked how she was feeling, she said "under the circumstances, I'm not doing too bad".
Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier said police were hoping to interview Ms Loader today.
Meanwhile, police said they still needed an anonymous caller who rang Tauranga Hospital, leaving details on a potential suspect in the bottle-throwing case, to contact them.
The caller gave a person's nickname and the name of a street where he might be living.
Police have said if the caller did not throw the bottle he would be protected from prosecution.
Mr Brazier said as time passed, suspicion grew over the person who threw the bottle.
"They might not have known what they've done at the time but they certainly do now."
Anyone with information on the attack can contact Mr Brazier on (07) 577 4300 or 027 494 5251.
