Police are still looking for the family of a Papamoa woman found dead inside her caravan yesterday.
The woman, believed to be in her late 50s, lived by herself and was a long-term resident at Papamoa Village Park camping ground. She had not been seen for at least a day.
Concerned neighbours
raised the alarm with police, who discovered the woman's body inside her home yesterday morning.
Neighbour James Taylor said it was common knowledge the woman had medical problems and suffered from emphysema.
She had been a "live wire", Mr Taylor said.
The camping ground's manager, who did not want to be named, described the woman as sociable and friendly.
"She was always out and about, saying hello to people," she said.
It is understood the woman's only family lives in England.
Because police were yet to contact her next of kin, formal identification was delayed.
