Renowned concert pianist Michael Endres has performed in great music halls all over the world - and this Sunday he will delight an audience right here in Tauranga.
The German-born pianist, who now resides in New Zealand, is embarking on his first ever nationwide tour and will visit the Western Bay at the invitation of Tauranga Musica.
The organisation's 2011 concert series features six different guest performers, and Endres will be the third musician to take the stage Tauranga Musica chairman Barry Ward says Endres is a highly respected pianist who specialises in Schubert.
"We are very lucky to have him visit. He has a great reputation and we're looking forward to listening to a very fine programme of music."
International critics have described Endres as "one of the most interesting pianists recording today". He has released 27 CDs during his career,and he has appeared at major festivals and concert-halls all over the world.
Endres has also enjoyed a distinguished teaching career in Germany and is currently Professor of Piano at Canterbury University.
Mr Ward says the pianist still frequently travels to Germany and the United States to perform.During the concert at Bethlehem College's Performing Arts Centre this Sunday, Endres will play works by Schubert, Gareth Farr, Schumann and Leopold Godowsky.

Time: Sunday 22nd May, 3pm - 5pm
