LABEL WE LOVE

Ioanna Kourbela
www.ioannakourbela.co.nz
Local Stockist: White Lion & Co

Ioanna Kourbela's grandfather started the knitwear company in Athens in the 70s when all garments were handknitted. Ioanna took over designing the range in 2003.

Her designs are architectural and attention on beautiful fabrics and comfort are paramount. Greece produces a lot of cotton so many of the knit garments are 100 per cent cotton.

The company is now run by her father Pantelis and her sisters Stella and Anastasia also work in the business making it very much a family affair.

Ioanna's philosophy of design is: "You wear the garment not the garment wears you."

Many pieces can be worn a few different ways depending on your mood. "2550" wrap has been in production for years and has its own YouTube video.

She uses gorgeous wool/mohair/cotton blends for warmth and comfort in the winter and soft silk/cotton blends for coolness and drape in the summer.

Her designs are a delight to wear.

This label has been available in New Zealand for the past four years and it's gaining a bigger and bigger fan base every year.

Kiwi women are drawn to its casual sophistication, comfort of design and use of natural fabrics. An Ioanna Kourbela garment is likely to stay in your wardrobe for many years to come.

The Ioanna Kourbela Woman:

The typical Ioanna Kourbela woman knows her style and is confident to be creative and different.

She likes to dress smart casual with an edge of sophistication.

She knows she can change her coat for a drapey knit and heels for boots for an evening catch-up.

She likes to take her sense of style through to weekends and holidays with ease. She is 28 to 88 and appreciates European design, comfort and quality fabrics.

Ioanna Kourbela is part of our indulge Outlet Sale on September 27, at ASB Baypark. Come and shop among some of our favourite local and national designers at outlet prices.
