FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS: Listening to what the client wants keeps you a cut above the rest

Name: My name is Felicity Brackenridge, owner of Hair on Wharf Street hair salon.
Age: I am 32 years old.
Location: Wharf St, Tauranga CBD.
What is your job? I am a hairstylist and own Hair on Wharf Street.
Why did you get into it? It was time for me to have my own salon again.
What's your favourite part of the job? The fact that after 17 years of being a stylist in the industry I have never lost my passion for making people look and feel great.
What were you doing before this? I have always been a hairdresser. This is my second salon but was previously working in Papamoa.
What was your most memorable or embarrassing day (at work)? My most memorable day has to be the day I opened the door for business.
Number of employees? It's just me working here at the moment.
How do you go the extra mile for your customers? I listen intently to my client and do my very best to create exactly what their vision is. In this industry that is the most important part, that you understand each other.
What do you do after work (in your spare time) to unwind? I love to unwind with my husband and children with a fantastic curry from Bombay Brassiere. They make the best curry in the world - and I don't have to cook! It is a Thursday treat after a long day.
What does the future hold for you? Hopefully the future holds lots more lovely clients for me to get creative with. Oh, and health and happiness, of course.
