Samuel Digby Lourie, 49, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
The farmer blew an excess blood alcohol reading of 165mgcs when he was stopped by police in Marton.
The police summary of facts said that Lourie was driving from Marton to Stratford but defence lawyer Anna Brosnahan said Lourie was just going down the road to see his brother.
Judge Allan Roberts said the level of alcohol was very high and was concern-ing.
I doubt you would have made it to Stratford, if thats where you were heading, Judge Roberts said.
Lourie was ordered to pay a $650 fine and disqualified for six months.
