Samuel Digby Lourie, 49, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
The farmer blew an excess blood alcohol reading of 165mgcs when he was stopped by police in Marton.
The police summary of facts said that Lourie was driving from Marton to Stratford but defence lawyer Anna Brosnahan said Lourie was just going down the road to see his brother.
