Local charities are $8000 better off thanks to the Mr Whanganui fundraiser.
The event was held on Friday night and involved local men standing in shop windows in the CBD, while people voted for them using "Mr Whanganui" money.
The winner was the man with the most money at the end of the night.
Each man's money was given to his charity of choice.
Daniel McKechnie was the winner and he raised $1600 for CanTeen. Second was Robert Scott, for City Mission, and third place went to Craig Cleveland whose charity was Relay For Life.
Geoff Follett from Mainstreet Wanganui said it was a fun night.
"There were lots of people out and about in town, and there was a lot of money being handed over.
"People were very generous," he added.
It's the second year the Mr Whanganui fundraiser has been held.
