Two men have been arrested for allegedly pointing a gun from their ute at another man in suburban Christchurch yesterday.
Police were called to the incident after a man waved down a passing patrol car and reported that the occupants of a ute had pointed a sawn-off shotgun at him in Wainoni about 7.15pm.
The pair, aged 17 and 19, were arrested by police who had set up cordons.
They will appear in court on Wednesday charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Inspector Derek Erasmus said the man who had the firearm pointed at him could not be contacted again and they appealed for him or anyone who could help identify him, to contact police.
