The pair also won the exhibition incurved category as well as the large exhibition any other colour for Kokka No Kota Buki and the vase decorative intermediate for Golden Gift.
Another Levin entrant, Dennis McCarthy was awarded the medium exhibition prize for Connie Mayhew and the vase decoratives reflex for West Bronwich.
Palmerston North entrant Stan Robertson won the large exhibition white prize for Jessie Habgood, the vase anemone centre prize for Edith Mechen, and the vase singles for Glad Eye.
Whanganui winners in the category were: Alison Brockway, vase pompom for Kelvin Mandorin, vase sprays for Hokimai Yellow and best intermediate vase for Solar Flare. Margaret Gibbard, vase fantasies for Diane Stokes, Brian Allpress, vase 5 blooms for Toms Memory and Charles and Grace Brougham, best novice vase for Stokes Escapade.
Winners for plants and produce were all from Whanganui, they were: Lewanna Mclean for garden flowers, Jan Kenkins for pot plants and V & D Holmden for garden produce.
The theme for the floral art section was Royal Wedding and entries included table displays, bouquets, decorated tiaras, tall displays and posies.
Winners in the category were Lewanna Mclean in the Women's Institute Simplicity class, Carole George for best in show, Debra Rigg for most artistic, Joy McGregor for colour, advanced and open, Rebecca Hudson, intermediate and Carole George, senior.
Carla Huhn won the children's secondary award and the children's primary winners were: Ella Paddock, first, Tea Paddock, second, Ella Sullivan, third and Lily and Poppy Brooksman were both highly commended.
