The Whanganui sun shone down on vintage cars and their drivers as they set off from Kowhai Park on Sunday morning.
The organiser of the annual Wanganui Vintage Car Club rally, Peter Hardy, said there were 64 competitors, with 27 out-of-towners in the running.
"We had mechanical assistance available butit wasn't needed. All the cars ran well and the oldest car was Ian Chamberlain's 1917 Buick 654 Tourer."
The rally terminated in Waverley where two cars and their crews claimed equal first place.
Whanganui couple Ted and Jenny Matthews in their 1965 Mustang shared the top prize with Peter and Ann Robinson of Palmerston North in their 1973 Mercury Cougar.
