Raj and Uma Chandu have increased business since they bought the Subway franchises at Taihape and Waiouru and reopened on August 25.
Raj said both stores now had barista coffee from Italy on the menu.
The newly-married couple had looked for a new business and were offered the Taihape and Waiouru franchise, Raj said.
Uma first came to New Zealand to study for her MBA at Auckland University and managed a Subway in Auckland.
The couple, originally from India, employ 15 full and part-time staff at both Subway eateries.
