AFTER willing myself to sit and watch Seven Sharp, I had to deal myself a further excruciating speech to make myself sit through the whole 30 minutes.
It seemed to me that presenters Mike Hosking and Toni Street slogged it out at a fun and entertainment strategy that reminded me of a big boys' Playschool, that popular kids show from decades ago, starring Big Ted and Little Ted.
On Seven Sharp (7pm, weeknights on TV One) we're treated to cutish pasted-on smile girl Ted and twisted, smirky grin boy Ted, both hellbent on entertaining us with not so sharp quips, forced humour and hefty dollops of their supposedly intelligent comments, in case you don't get it ... the story that is.
Bantering mildly intelligent conversation between the two is apparently - they believe - their win-all drawcard.
And I see they're convinced they both are attractive little darlings on camera, in fact across all of New Zealand telly.
