Masters Games bags given away

Organisers of the New Zealand Masters Games have donated surplus bags to Whanganui Girls College and the Chronicle.

The Girls College bags have since been passed on to school leaders.

Assistant principal Prabh Mokha said the Year 10 prefects "are our school leaders while the seniors have been on study leave for much of Term 4.

"They undertook gate duty as well as organised a range of lunchtime activities, from quizzes and karaoke, to sporting competitions.

"The bags were kindly donated by the New Zealand Masters Games and were used to thank the prefects for their contribution."

Some bags were also given to the Wanganui Chronicle to add to their goodie bags for the Light up Your Homes tour.

Children who belong to the Birthright organisation are judging the houses this year and on Thursday night will go on a bus tour to pick the best decorations and lights.
