Whanganui library staff should be extra positive this week, Māori information librarian Jasmin Ratana says.
There will be lots of the Māori equivalents of "Good on you!" and "Go for it!" being said.
Te Wiki o te Reo Maori (Maori Language Week) started on Monday.
During the week each staff
member will be wearing a sticker with an encouraging and supportive saying. Staff learn their sayings, and will be able to tell members of the public what they mean.
Bonnie Wilson's phrase was "Eke panuku!" - Win! Made it! Sarah Fitness had "Ka pai hoki koe!" - Good on you!
