A workshop on Saturday may have reeled in a few new members for the Wanganui Bonsai Buddies group.
Held in the Community Arts centre on Taupo Quay, the workshop drew more people than expected, said president Neil Gardner, who thought it was "probably because of the market".
Mr Gardner said they were expecting two or three people to come in, but "a dozen or more came in and were interested in what we were doing".
"That was good, positive," Mr Gardner said.
The group would be holding a workshop monthly, and hoped to get more members.
