Hot ashes may have sparked a rural shed fire near Marton on Thursday morning.
Marton firefighters were called to a Bryces Line property at 9.53am after the structure came alight.
The cause is yet to be confirmed but Marton fire chief Paul Whitehead said hot ashes may have been the spark.
"The shed was destroyed and a bit of farm equipment inside," he said.
"At this stage we believe it was hot ashes from a fireplace and a nice easterly wind blowing through."
